Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC) is a statutory organization of the Government of Punjab, established through legislative measures to provide enhanced administrative and operational flexibility in strengthening the state’s public healthcare system. The Corporation was originally constituted for the implementation of the Second State Health Systems Development Project, supported by the World Bank, with the objective of upgrading secondary-level health services across Punjab. Following the completion of the project, PHSC has continued to function as a key implementing arm of the Government of Punjab in the health sector. Over the years, PHSC has evolved into the nodal procurement and implementation agency for the Health Department, Government of Punjab. The Corporation plays a pivotal role in ensuring uninterrupted availability of essential drugs and medical equipment, transparent and efficient procurement systems, and robust maintenance mechanisms across public health institutions. Through its dedicated Engineering Wing, PHSC undertakes planning, construction, renovation, and maintenance of government health facilities, thereby strengthening healthcare infrastructure throughout the state. At present, PHSC manages and supports healthcare services across 227 Secondary Institutions, 1090 Aam Aadmi Clinics, 2511 Health & Wellness Centers and 159 Ayush AACs, delivering end-to-end solutions ranging from drug and equipment procurement to sanitation services, patient support services, and hospital operations. The Corporation is also at the forefront of digital health transformation in Punjab, managing Hospital Information Management Systems (HMIS), the Drug and Vaccine Distribution Management System (eAushadhi/DVDMS), and critical emergency and public health help lines including ERS-108 ambulance services and the 104 Medical Helpline. With a strong focus on efficiency, transparency, and patient-centric care, Punjab Health System Corporation continues to act as a backbone of the public health delivery system in the state, supporting various health wings of the Government and contributing significantly to improved access, quality, and reliability of healthcare services for the people of Punjab.
